Sociology

Sociology is the first class I am testing out of. In order to get myself up to speed on the topic of basic sociology I have done three things;

1. I listened to the entire class for free via iTunes. (a word about this- the class offered from Tenn U was a basic entry level class to the topic of sociology, and having taken classes from all over, I found this paticular class to, say lightly, suck. The instructor got into some light conflict theory and very lightly touched on other points, but after reading the textbook, wiki entries, and instacert flash cards along with the clep material, I found this class to be entirely insufficent. Hopefully a better class other than the one available to me will be available to you.)

2. I read the book, Sociology, 12th edition, available online.

3. I scoured through the open Wikipedia university entries on major researchers and pioneers in the science of sociology, from the first sociologist in the 16th century to the big three from the late 1800’s to the most recent sociologists of today.

4. I used instacert to review for the testing, at about $20 a month.
